From Atlanta, take 400 North until it ends at the John B. Jones intersection.  Cross over the intersection on to Long Branch Road (Waffle House across the intersection on the left).  Go straight on Long Branch Road until the stop sign (5 miles), then turn right (after your right turn there is a BP Gas Station on your right).  Follow Hwy. 115 13.3 miles into downtown Cleveland, Georgia, and turn left at traffic signal (North Hwy. 129).  Go past the Dairy Queen on your left, and turn right at the traffic signal (1/2 mile) at the Gateway Inn onto Route 75.

Follow the road (7.1 miles) and turn right at the Indian Mound which is Hwy. 17 South.  Follow this 2.4 miles to Hwy. 255 TURN LEFT at the Sautee Store.  (It's easy to miss the store on the left, so look carefully.)

Follow this winding road 8.1 miles until you approach the Batesville Store and bear left at the stop sign, which puts you on Hwy. 197.  Follow Hwy. 197, which circles the lake, 12.4 miles.
